The 22-year-old not only scored but he also gave Sergio Busquets and Ivan Rakitic a run for their money in the centre of midfield, helping his side to an impressive 4-3 win.

Talk is now beginning to take shape over his future, with Betis keen to make the move permanent and agree a deal with PSG before the winter break in La Liga.

Should Betis qualify for Europe this season, then they do have a clause in his current loan deal that would allow them to have first refusal on the midfielder and, the midfielder has spoken of his desire to remain with the Andalusian club.

“This is not the first time I have said this, but I am very happy and I am enjoying my football,” Lo Celso said, in quotes carried by Marca.

“This is a good environment for me with the Coach and my teammates, they have looked after me since my arrival and they support me, it makes me feel happy.

“I knew all about Betis before I arrived, I knew we would be a competitive team who would challenge and that I would have an important role in the team.

“Betis are the right club for me, I still have a lot to learn and I plan to do that here.”
