Welcome to the first in a new series called Blast From The Past, in which we take a look at some of football’s forgotten players past and present.

Today we kick-off with former England U21 captain Nigel Reo-Coker, who is still an active player at the age of 33 but is currently a free agent. Last season he applied his trade in the Norweigan second tier for IK Start, which is a long way from the start of his career.

Arguably one of the most memorable games he featured in was the 2006 FA Cup Final. He led out West Ham against Liverpool at the Millenium Stadium. Take a look at the highlights from that game in the video below, it’s well worth a watch even if it’s to see that magnificent strike by Steven Gerrard.

Below is a snapshot of Reo-Coker’s magic against Arsenal in 2006.

So what do you think, is Nigel Reo-Coker a blast from the past? Vote in our poll and leave your thoughts in the comments section below.
